Founded by Sherron Permashwar, also known as The Modern Savvy CPA, the Academy was born out of both professional expertise and lived experience. Sherron came to the U.S. as a wide-eyed nine-year-old immigrant and grew up in the resilient streets of the South Bronx. Raised in modest circumstances, she learned early that while America may offer opportunity, true prosperity requires discipline, gratitude, and intentional money management.
After nearly 30 years in corporate and public accounting, Sherron launched The Modern Savvy CPA in 2023, sharing her 3M Formula—money motivation, money mindset, money mechanics. But the mission quickly outgrew the platform. To truly serve underserved communities and build programs that drive generational change, she founded The Prosperity Academy.
The Prosperity Academy began with a simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves the tools to thrive financially, no matter their background, zip code, or income.
The Problem We’re Solving.
Across nonprofits and underserved colleges, financial literacy is too often missing. Passionate staff and students with big dreams lack access to practical tools for managing money. This isn’t a question of willpower—it’s a question of exposure. And without it, communities remain stuck in cycles of financial struggle.
Our Mission.
We empower the next generation of leaders by equipping nonprofits, educators, and community champions with revolutionary tools to teach intentional money management.
We don’t just talk about financial literacy, we ignite a movement where students and leaders from underserved communities step boldly into their economic power and refuse to accept financial limitations as their destiny.
Our Vision.
We envision a world where financial literacy is no longer a privilege, but a birthright. Through our programs, every person we reach becomes a catalyst for change—building generational wealth and reshaping the future of entire communities.
Our Values.
+ Empowerment: equipping individuals with confidence and clarity.
+ Equity: making financial education accessible to underserved communities.
+ Education: transforming theory into hands-on, practical action.
+ Community: multiplying impact through collaboration and partnerships.
What We Stand For.
At The Prosperity Academy, we don’t just teach money skills—we help people transform their relationship with money. We don’t hand out fish. We teach people to fish, build their own pond, and sell their surplus at the market.
Because prosperity isn’t just about wealth, it’s about worth, where dignity meets discipline and financial freedom follows.
