How The Prosperity Academy Took Root

The Prosperity Academy began with a simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves the tools to thrive financially—no matter their background, zip code, or income level. 

Founded by Sherron Permashwar, also known as The Modern Savvy CPA, the Academy was born from both professional expertise and personal experience. Sherron came to the U.S. as a wide-eyed nine-year-old immigrant and grew up in the resilient streets of the South Bronx. Raised in modest circumstances, she quickly learned that while America may offer opportunity, true prosperity comes from something deeper—living within your means, practicing gratitude, and mastering the skills to manage money with intention. 

After nearly 30 years in corporate and public accounting, Sherron launched The Modern Savvy CPA in 2023 to share her signature approach to financial independence: The 3M Formula: money motivation, money mindset, and money mechanics. Through her YouTube channel, podcast, and digital platforms, she began reaching a diverse audience ready to break cycles of financial stress and step into wealth with confidence. 

But the mission quickly outgrew the platform. To truly serve underserved communities, collaborate with mission-aligned partners, and build programs that drive generational change, Sherron knew she needed more than just influence—she needed infrastructure. That’s when The Prosperity Academy was born.

At The Prosperity Academy, we do more than teach money skills—we equip individuals and communities with the tools to transform their relationship with money for good. Our work reaches:

We don’t just hand out fish. We teach people how to fish, build their own pond, and sell their surplus at the market.
